ABOUT UNKNOWN ROADS

Practical minds.
Curious by nature.

We’re a small independent Canadian studio taking ideas from “what if?” to something people can actually use.

Some of our work starts with a problem: information scattered across spreadsheets, a task that takes too many steps, or a business that needs tools built around its own way of working.

Other projects start with curiosity. A hockey record worth following. A community worth exploring. An idea for a website, a game, or a simulator that we want to see exist.

Unknown Roads is a place for both. We bring practical experience and a hands-on approach, build a working version, and keep improving it through use.

WHAT WE DO

One studio.
Two kinds of work.

CUSTOM WORK

Tools for real businesses.

We build websites, private platforms, and software around the people doing the work. Our current client work spans petroleum operations and news publishing, connecting public websites with the systems behind them.

OUR OWN PROJECTS

Ideas for everyone.

We also build our own free public projects, from sports trackers to community information sites. Donations from people who enjoy them help cover the cost of running and improving them.

HOW WE APPROACH IT

Make it useful.
Put it to work.

Start with the everyday.

Understand what people need and where the friction is before deciding what to build.

Keep it practical.

A clear website or a simpler workflow can make a bigger difference than another complicated system.

Build, use, improve.

Get ideas into people’s hands and let real use guide what comes next.

BACK THE PROJECTS YOU ENJOY

A little support.
More room to build.

We build our public projects and make them free to use. If one has become part of your day — or you just like seeing independent ideas take shape — you can help keep it going.
